Need info/help with used kart work

Able to use it with a backplate which is why it was designed. No jackshaft to worry about trying to fit in a tight spot. They were designed for mini bikes.

Thought so lol, just bought the kart guy had no clue what he was doing. I get the joy of fixing his screw ups

Key not always built in, sometimes separate.
I have yet to come across a 30 series driver that the key wasn't a formed part of the rear sheave hub.

The driven on the otherhand I have yet to see one NOT need a a separate key

Heat it, oil it, heat it again, beat it with a heavy punch centered in the shaft so you don't deform anything.

Worst case scenario grab an angle grinder with a fresh cut off and split the whole damn thing right down the keyway (keeps you from wrecking the shaft with blade penatration)
