<<admin --- this was started in 2017 and will aim to finish in 2018>>

Well, a little late to the punch, but I'm going to try and enter this thing!

The build is a mini 60's Formula 1 go kart for my kids (power wheels won't do). The last go kart i built (shoulda been in the 2016 contest but I was too far by the time the contest kicked off) is still too big for my son to fit but almost too small for the two of us to ride.

More pics to come of progress to date. So far the frame is about 75% complete. I have been using my newish 3D printer to make tools for weld jigs (tacking) and drill jigs.

DNF for 2017 but if you have pics, upload 'em and it'll be a 2018 finish!

2018 Kids Mini F1 Kart

Welp, my 2017 inspiration died and I didn't complete the project here: http://www.diygokarts.com/vb/showthread.php?t=36439

But I have picked it back up and am hoping to finish for 2018! here are some pictures to show progress so far!

Engine is a 3hp Predator, 1" axle, those are 5/8" rod ends for adjustable front wheel geometry (and to look like a mini F1 of course)

Nice!! I am sure you will get it done this time around.

Go have a look at the rules regarding a pic with your sign and parts pile, and as soon as you have posted that the thread will be moved to the build log section

I went ahead and merged this new post with your old one and moved it to the build logs. Keep posting pics and what the rest of your parts pile looks like!
