There’s a bit more to it then just buying them. A lot of them come with no box and you send it to dynocams to get the specs. Next would be the lifter bore area. if it’s not welded no bigger then a 93ss hotstock cam is recommended. Last they sell +.100 lifters for the camshafts with a ground down base circle. And very rarely will some spring packets need cut. Just be carful you get a hotstock camshaft unless you wanna do a small bit of work.

These are two different camshafts for a 5hp I made. The top picture is a hotstock cam I have run for some time now without trouble. I will get a junk block someday to test my bootleg 112 alt in the second picture.. lobes look like thumbs on the real 112‘s

What kind of work does it take to run those cams?? Do they need spring pockets cut? And i’m guessing at least the lifter area needs welded up?

ok I’m clueless past hot stock fun backyard style stuff. is that just a gp966 spring kit from dynocams? I don’t see spring pockets cut? Did you weld up the lifter bore? I guess my last question is are those +100 lifters or just stock? One more what cams are those?

Please correct me I’m sire I’m wrong did you just machine the lifer area down so lifter taper doesn’t snap it off? I guess I’m trying to learn. And for the above comment the exhaust area doesn’t look welded? The lift on that cam and everyone saying machine work NEEDS done to run a cam like that?

so looking for a nice bump stick (cam)
