I thought about a roller bearing but getting the angle correct would involve more engineering and fabrication than the whole simple setup as is.
I thought about using some Nylon or Delrin or similar plastic but it would require a lot of shaping.
The slide isn't hard, especially with lube...

Twin 212s are cheaper than a 420, but are they better?
Has anyone done a twin engine AWD kart?
Interested to know how this will perform with two motors on one solid axle.
Lose the live axle and drive each rear wheel separately. Or, just cut it in the middle and use two more axle bearing hangers in the middle.
Add a brake rotor to each half.
I think the 30 series drive pulley usually has 3/4 and the driven pulley is usually 5/8 on 90% or the cheap TCs.
I think 3/4 driven pulley bore puts you in 40 series territory.
Yes. On the video the rod has two rings. One is for the cable. One is to stop the rod from travelling too far and putting undue pressure on the carb/governor linkage.
Is the cable broken? The inner wire part should be one piece such that when you pull one end the other end gets pulled into the outer cable housing. The clamp on the engine side should only clamp down on the outer cable housing.
In the first pic of your rod and spring you show the cable...
That looks like a 224 with aftermarket air filter. If that air filter and an aftermarket muffler was installed it should probably have a bigger jet in the carb to run right.
