Nice work! I love the way ya bump bendin that tube! What kinda tubin is that? Maybe I missed it, its early.
That looks like the same brake setup I bought a coupla years ago, but you got it for about half of what I paid.
It works purdy well, but I had to get longer hoses, then bleeding the system was a *****.

Hey T,
Most of my creations are made outta regular old water pipe (1/2" Schedule 40)
...it's actually 7/8"OD x 5/8"ID with a ~1/8" wall thickness
...& has been my "go to" material for years
...but, I got some 1" 16g HREW (Hot Rolled Electric Welded) steel tube (maybe for the next one)

I'ma gonna try to set up the wheel base & track so that the brake system can be used as-is (hopefully)

How did you go about connecting the brake pedal to the master cylinder?
...& can you maybe post some pics, of the set up you used?

Galvanized pipe?
l stole this from a secret source. Only thing i can legally say is its a deceleration activator pedal from a classified intergalatic vessel project. The original design was for a mercury based electromagnetic velocity regucer.
it is easily adapted to a standard hydraulic brake system, however!

Hey T,
No Galvanize pipe, just plain 'ol steel
Um...OK...LOL
Thanks!

I've been workin' on some prototype dual flange hubs

Where did that odd ball come from?
the first few letters/numbers tell ya the size, type, construction and clearance. The last few are the lube and seal type. When all the letters and numbers are put together it spells dump that POS and get something normal.

NTN Bearing SC0228LLU Single Row Radial Ball Bearing, Contact, Normal Clearance, Steel Cage, 15.875 mm Bore, 34.925 mm OD, 11.112 mm Width, Double Sealed.

Ugly size!

Hey T,

Yup, they seemed kinda odd

IIRC them bearings came out of an old tread mill
...then, going even further down "memory lane" I think those the tube & bearings (from the tread mill) can be seen on this kart

Is changingbearing size going to create problems? Both are 5/8 bore.
the OD is about .0025 bigger.
6202-10 is very common size. probably in stock at every 7 -11
Nope, shouldn't
I was wantin' to set up hubs that work with standard go kart, front wheel bearings like,

Is that the same material as in the pic with the bearing installed?

What is the diameter of the axle?
Hey T,
Yes, it's the same piece even, I just popped the bearing out to get measurements.

This stuff:
16 Gauge Carbon Steel Round Tube 1-1/2" OD .065" wall 45" Long 1.5" 1.37 ID
https://www.ebay.com/itm/225727225365

The plan is to use standard 5/8" go kart spindles, for the front "axles", like these

https://www.bmikarts.com/Complete-Spindle-Set--6-x-58_p_2946.html

...& a 5/8" x ~6" grade 8 bolt, for the rear axle

There seems to be a discrepancy between the measurement called out (1.37) and what you measured (1.392).
Assuming the odd ball bearing fit (34.925MM) the measurement must be closer to 35 MM (1.378).
What I'm getting at is, The common kart front wheel bearing (99502H) is .625 X 1.375 (5/8 x 1 3/8).
Another alternative is a 6202 -10 (5/8 x 35MM)
One might fit better (OD) than the other....
Yeah its only .003 but loose is no bueno.

Hey T,
I took one of the front wheels off of my Aerial Atom kart, to see what bearings were in its wheels ;)
SAM_1316 (1).JPG
It has the 99502H bearings (with a snap ring)
SAM_1317 (1).JPG
I used (1) of the bearings (while I had it available) for test fittin' in the hub tube material
...& they seem ta fit pretty snuggly

* I can start & insert the bearing "by hand"
...but, it takes some effort
...& then, the bearing has to be tapped out, from the inside, to remove
SAM_1318 (1).JPG
FYI: Here is a video of my Aerial Atom kart :auto:

Wow! That one has snap ring! Can yer S**t get any weirder?
use the 99502's cuz they fit. The snap ring might be a problem, cuz thats not very common, as in l've never seen a 99502HC. I'm sure they exist, but so do unicorns, l'm told.

We call it Native American Summer now. Indian is a racist term.
Hey Denny,
I guess I'm not WOKE enough

I learned in school that Indian is a descriptive term for the people who live in the country of India
...& Native Americans were referred to as Indians by Columbus
...because he was heading for
...& thought he landed, in the country of India hence, "Hello Indians" :cornut: or "How"

But, come to find out the North American continent was in his way
...so, the folks there were then, referred to as American Indians

AFAIU referring to folks with terms like Savage & Redskin would be considered derogatory or racist :ack2:
